Account access
SeriaReader requires an account so your private reading library can be associated with you and synchronized. Use a password you do not reuse elsewhere. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth.
Reviewers and invited testers must use credentials specifically provided to them. Never publish account passwords in documentation, screenshots, source repositories, or evidence files.
Chrome extension
The extension has one purpose: letting a signed-in user save the current browser tab to the user's private SeriaReader reading library. The initial release interface is in English.
Permissions
- activeTab: reads the active page's URL and title only after you open the extension and choose to save it.
- storage: keeps the minimum local authentication session information needed between popup openings.
- Host access: connects only to the SeriaReader Supabase backend for authentication and saving the user-selected page.
The extension does not monitor browsing in the background, record keystrokes, collect scrolling activity, execute remotely hosted code, or use data for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Save a page
- Navigate to the article, video, or page you want to keep.
- Open the SeriaReader extension from Chrome's extension menu.
- Sign in if prompted.
- Select Save to reading list.
- Wait for the success message before closing the popup.
The extension sends the user-selected page URL and title to SeriaReader. The backend may retrieve the page content to create a readable copy in your library.
Data and privacy
SeriaReader processes account information, authentication session data, pages you explicitly save, and content you add to your library. It does not sell user data or use extension data for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling.
See the complete Privacy Policy for retention, disclosure, security, and user-rights information.
Troubleshooting
The extension asks me to sign in again
Check your internet connection and sign in again. If the problem continues, close and reopen the popup. Do not send your password to support.
A page was not saved
Confirm that you are signed in, the current tab is a normal web page, and the success message appears. Some restricted Chrome pages cannot be accessed by extensions. Try another public HTTPS page to isolate the problem.
The saved page looks incomplete
Some websites restrict automated retrieval or render content dynamically. Keep the original URL and report the page to support without sharing private or paywalled content you are not authorized to disclose.
I found an error
Include the browser version, a short reproduction sequence, the page URL when safe to share, and the exact error text. Remove account details and personal information from screenshots.
Delete an account
Use the account deletion page to request deletion. Account deletion and Google Play subscription cancellation are separate actions. If an Android subscription exists, manage it through Google Play.
